Screening is a per-domain setting. With it on, mail to an address that has never received mail at that domain waits in Screening. You screen each address in or out. It works on the trial domain and on any domain you own.
Turn on screening
Open Screening, select Domains, and turn on the switch for the domain. Addresses that already receive mail keep working.
What happens to a new address
Its mail waits in Screening. No inbox appears, no rules run, and the sender sees nothing. Waiting mail appears only in Screening.
A dot next to Screening in the sidebar means addresses are waiting.
Screen an address in or out
Open Screening. Each row is one address, with the latest sender and how many emails are waiting. Expand the row to read them.
- Screen in delivers the waiting mail as new and lets future mail to that address through. The inbox appears in your list and its rules run as usual. Push notification rules skip the mail that was waiting.
- Screen out bounces future mail to that address back to the sender and keeps a copy in Trash. Waiting emails move to Trash too, and those under 24 hours old are bounced. Screen out adds a bounce rule to the inbox.
To undo, delete that rule. Mail to the address is delivered from then on.
Turn off screening
Turn off the domain's switch in Domains. Everything still waiting at that domain is delivered as new mail, and new addresses are delivered. Your decisions are kept for the next time you turn screening on.
Turn off screening before deleting the domain.
